Something Missing

Postby spartacus » Sat Mar 29, 2003 4:20 pm

Hi Guys,
I was eagerly awaiting the new Beta, and downloaded the fiirst weekend.

I have to say that although everything is beautifully done - I seriously miss the straight DM. Was the recoding for new game modes SO extensive that the Q3 default mode had to be lost? Over the last few weeks we have tried the new modes (and enjoyed them) but we still miss DM. :(

FYI - the mod seems to lock up every machine/OS combination less than a 900MHz on loading.

You can play DM with this mod. Try creating your own multiplayer game and set the gametype to deathmatch. Bank robbery and duel maps will not work in deathmatch, so you have to choose a map that starts with "wq_" such as wq_tillian.

Yea - Hanging head in shame. My humble apologies guys.

I've got it now. Happy camper again. I really should RTFM.

Regarding the lock ups - If we can keep it running long enough to
lower settings their is no problems but our install seems to default to high settings - again prb'ly me - I'll go and check the manual.

If it's not in the FAQ (can't remember  ) and you haven't already.......check this section of the forum. The answer may lie there as well.
