Lee Van Cleef alert

Postby DeUgli » Sun Nov 09, 2008 2:48 am

If you're a fan of Lee Van Cleef, you can't do better than watching "The Big Combo", a film noir from the '50s. Van Cleef gets very minor billing, but he's in many scenes as a bodyguard/hitman. Tough guy all the way.

He's always a kick! Did you ever see that mid-life Kung Foo TV series he did? They even played the GB&U theme line as a joke once.

The Master aka Master Ninja?

Yeah.

I know of it.

Unfortunately. Then again, in its defense, Sho Kosugi was great and I do enjoy Timmy Van Patton in a "precursor to Shia Lebouf" sort of fashion. Lee was slumming it pretty bad and the episodes were just so terribly boring, though.

If anyone wants an old-school Lee movie that actually wasn't bad, I'd suggest It Conquered The World, an old Roger Corman B-movie with Peter Graves. Lee basically plays the bad guy who's a symbol for Nazi/Communist sympathizers. Fun little b-movie with an evil monster carrot from Venus.
