Jack Palance dead at 87

Postby ReD NeCKersoN » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:46 pm

A real Hollywood legend passed away yesterday at age 87. I don't think there's ever been a more steadfast symbol of toughness in films. When I think of "Mean SOB" & western films, I think of this man.

Rest in peace. News of his death & a short biography here.

He was quite a guy. He took his job seriously, but also had a sense of humor about his image and the movie business. Kind of like Robert Mitchum that way.

One of my favorite movies he did wasn't a Western, though it was set in the West. It was BAGDAD CAFE, a comedy with a German director. Wonderful support work by Jack in that one.
