Slight delay...

Postby ReD NeCKersoN » Wed Dec 31, 2008 8:07 am

Since when have we ever kept a proposed release date around here? I'm pretty sure the answer is NEVER. We're enthusiastic, but not always realistic. However, this time we were pretty darn close. Our new projected release date is 1/1/2009. Just need to wrap up a little problem or two. The Stand-Alone is almost here! On the plus side, it looks like a fan-favorite map will make it in time. :D

Wh1sper, should, granted Tequila gets the files onto the mirror so the "Generic" package can be rezipped. (Generic is used for servers/linux and unsupported configurations (Crossover, Cedega, Cider) bundling the exe and a png for X11 being the only real difference, while the exe is an installer for Windows which will be ready by noon today -6 UTC but has to be tested yet again) Two files are holding back the Generic package.

It'll arrive when it's done... doesn't matter when, still looking forward to it! :D Expect to see me opening up a huge can of whoop ass some time in 2009!

Looking forward to the SA!! I think it would be many new players when the stand alone comes!! :D Is it possible to make adverts on other big sites about this game? It will bring much more people to Smokin guns i think! :)

And have a happy new year, from sweden!! 8)

Stay tuned folks, it won't be long!

Technically, we don't even have a delay if we release early on 1.1.2009 since we never specified a timezone, right ;)

Let's hope for new players, contributors and a fresh new start for this mod!

Cheers

You bet! It would help if everyone here submits news to as many gaming websites they can think of.
