Green Hill Lake - Testing

Lethal's map is ready for testing. You can get it HERE. Link removed. -ReD-
All gametypes are supported but not bots in this version. We aren't even sure at this point if bots will ever be included due to the layout of the map. Put simply, bots cause a serious fps issue and it doesn't look like anything can be done about it. Time will tell. Please post feedback and enjoy! 8)

Cool map indeed (I only played very briefly, though).

But ... this time it's on my test server, already :-) ... just keep voting for this map ;-)

Cool and huge map !
Great work Lethal !

I only play a bit, but here are my first remarks :
I noticed that this door closed automatically, after 5 seconds.
I guess it is a choice. Opened door might be a good indication to notice a robbery ;)

This is kind of a same minor problem in the coyotebluff's mine cart.
Good place to hide ;)

BTW, it's on my test server, too, with "bot_minplayers 0".

yeehaa, I get this map tonight. unfortunitally, I can only do 1vs1 match one it due to no bot suport. :|

Lake Comments

Unlike other maps, Lake is a real fun one for stealth killing and sharp shooters.
Many trees and rocks are helpful for hiding from shoots.
This test session (Saturday 16th of July) was a real pleasure ;)

For the meantime, I can only say that bank robbery is quite hard from the robber side, but I guess it may be too early to suggest a second money point ...
Let's see that tomorrow for others gg ;)

That was a LOT of fun.

I think there was agreement that the bank is too hard to rob. I crouched behind the barrels and gunned people down easily without getting damage.
When even I can get three kills in a row, something's wrong. :lol:

Maybe all that is needed is to change the spawn points to opposite sides of the lake midway between the cabin and the gold. That would open up lots of strategy opportunities and make it more even also.

Yeah, to pursue your idea, why not having other spawn points outside for everyone, robbers and money keepers ?
If keepers want to camp in the gold place, they have to cross the map, safely, before.
Or else, they can try to shoot some robbers, outside.

New version of lake is up, same link as first post. Bot support included for all modes, br bots are dumb as shit..

While playing in sig11's test server with the new version, here are some collision problems we have noticed :

Near the robbers 's cabin, collision problem on the horizontal tree.
We can cross it, without crouching

Closed to the robbers 's cabin, behind, we can cross some part of the grey tree :

These are not really critical, but they are worth to be shown.

Forget to mention that was sig11 who found the first collision problem.
For the second one, Red has also probably found it.

Only have to report and play the photographer's role :D

Yeah, and we didn't really test br mode today. Hopefully there will be more players around tomorrow so we can test the gameplay to see if the relocated spawns make a difference.

Also, when firing the gatling gun at the water, a few of us noticed a framerate dip. It even happened to me when I couldn't see the water nor the gat (there was a hill in the way). Maybe we just need new vidcards. ;)

1) Most of the money on the map floats. My terrain is not flat, the money has to "float" above the ground a few units or it gets buried in the ground.. I'm looking into a few things to change this.

2) Nothing can be done about any framerate issues beside what I have already done, it is tweaked framerate wise as far as it can be.

3) Clipping issues have been noted.. :)

Also I should mention that the bots in BR mode are dumbasses and pretty much worthless, I am working on tweaking them.. They must of missed the class that teaches how to play BR..:?

They never got one ;-) .... Seriously, bots just can't play BR. This is a long standing bug or rather "missing feature". torhu mentioned something about it, that apparantly Spoon tried to code something and that the code contains bits and pieces. But in the end, the AI lacks the knowldege of getting the money bag and escaping with it. I guess ICI could live with BR as being a true multi-player mode. It's certainly something I want to at least look at, maybe even do something about it - no promises though.

I hope, this is what you meant ?
