I rarely use the ingame browser, but I tested it just now. You can see the results I got after about 15 seconds of waiting.

Not sure what to tell you. Seems to me if a firewall was to blame you wouldn't even see the one server that you tried. Are you using Q3 Arena or some other flavor? Like OpenArena for instance?

Instead of using Xfire (which I never have tried), you can use torhu's Monster browser :
http://www.westernquake3.net/viewtopic.php?t=823
or http://monsterbrowser.googlepages.com/ if you are lazy :)

If you still want to use the ingame browser, change the "Source:" in the top left corner of the "Join" menu, to "Favorites".
Be sure to keep "Type: All" in the top screen.
Then, click to the "New favorite" button, below.
In the "Name:" field, type whatever name you want.
In the "IP address:" field, type the server's IP address in the following format : X.X.X.X:Y
where X.X.X.X stand for the IP address and Y stand for the port number.
For example : 213.251.174.81:27960
Click the OK button.

Then, you will see that nothing appears in the list ? (might be a bug btw) Don't worry.
Change the "Source:" to whatever you want, and then roll back to "Favorites".
You should see the new server you add in the list ... with the correct name (This is why the "Name:" does not really matter).

Hope this really helps ... and maybe we should either improve the ingame browser or providing a complete documentation.

have you been able to connect to any server yet? you should at least try typing /connect 69.12.76.75:27960. If the game doesnt connect to the RAWHIDE server then there is something wrong on your end. Try turning of your personal firewall (if you use one) and your windows firewall temperarly just to see if you can connect to a serve.

I hadly every use any server browser. I use http://www.bootblock.de/wq3/ and the /connect. Heh I have a wq3 shortcut dedicated to connecting to the RAWHIDE server (C:\Games\quake3\q3.exe +set fs_game westernq3 +exec wq_dm.cfg +connect 69.12.76.75:27960)

It seems that the Monster Browser doesn't show wq3 servers at the moment. So something funny is going on with the servers or the master server. Something has changed.

But pasting the server ip from the bootblock page is a good idea. ctrl+v works for pasting into the q3 console.

The list there isn't in real time. I think it refreshes every few minutes.

Okay... also, I'm using OpenArena at the moment, and I know it can't actually show the q3a wq3 servers, but can I connect to them?

Although I haven't personally tested with OpenArena, at least one other OA user has posted here somewhere that he can connect & play. I think he had to join through the console.

Well, we don't know anything about your system specs. But if you're using Windows XP then look HERE. If you're also using a router between your pc & modem you should use http://www.google.com to find the support page for your model. That can be useful as well.
