button delay

Postby ChainLightnin' » Sun Aug 12, 2007 5:22 am

Well, I have to ask. I know my smokin' guns technique and skills have much room for improvement, but...when in a game with real players, I usually have to hit my mouse fire button two or three times before anything actually fires. And with the usual gangs that have been playing, you're probably already dead. I have a nice wireless Logitech mouse, which I think is great, but a 256k DSL, which I suspect causes the drag. And I suppose those ping helpers are just baloney? Anyway, it can be somewhat annoying to get where you have the slightest edge, and then click, click, ban..........g. Any ideas out there in the old west??
Well...Mr. Chain Blue Lightnin' hisself..heh, heh!

Did you see a delay in shooting (and btw hearing the shooting sound) ?
Or did you see a delay in seeing the shooting results (e.g hitting another player, breakable ... etc) ?

Maybe the reason is simply your ping.
The weapon shooting event sent to the server might be delayed, or some might be dropped.
It could explain why you have to click two or three times.

In all cases, I don't think it is a wireless mouse problem.
I always play with it, without any delay problem.

Start a single player game & see if it does the same thing or not.
