Use Logitech Dual Action Gamepad with Smokin' Guns

Postby darnthony » Fri Feb 20, 2009 6:09 am

This refers to Linux Users: Specifically Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 users.

There is a good program known as qjoypad, which can be set up to use with this great freeware game. Of course you need a Logitech game pad, then download the .deb file for qjoypad. Install it. Qjoypad allows you set up the logitech gamepad as a replacement for the mouse and keyboard keys. Make sure when you set up the mouse and or keyboard keys in the Smokin' Guns settings that they coincide with the same keys or buttons in the setup in qjoypad. I recommended using a pen and paper to first mark the settings in Smokin' Gun, then use these for qjoypad.

One word of note: The .deb file on the web site is set up for 32-bit Ubuntu, not for 64-bit Ubuntu. However, with manipulation of the orginal qjoypad.deb file, it can work under 64-bit ubuntu, with changing the .deb file to install the 32-bit application within the 64-bit environment.

This game is great. Good Job Programmers, keep up the good work.
