Yeah, pretty much like that... you could do it a little bigger and add 1 or 2 more moutains, so the city would be literally surrounded by mountains, and the robbers could come from anywhere, do you get what I mean? I have the feeling you already did hehe
Dont you have any other idea we can use? My imagination is kinda poor right now haha

i think the map is big enough, the time to get the money and bring it back should not be higher thatn 20 secs.

and i don't know maybe i can but 2 hill in but the town will be get very small
max 5 houses.

grettings

Yeah, thats exactly what I had in mind, a really small city with 4 or 5 buildings (like a bank, a big house, a gun's store, and 1 or 2 small houses).
It could be like those tiny cities buidt only to support a mine escavation, or something like that. Or maybe a small hidden town (Bandits town, hidden on the mountains, where they keep the stolen bags and equipment).
Oh, another idea I just had, since it would be hard to defend the city, the gun's store could be filled with guns for the defenders, maybe some free plates and belts too... But then the reobbers should REALLY have an advantage, so the dynamics would be balanced. Anyway, those are just some random ideas hehe

I really like the "Bandits hideout" idea (that could be the map's name, if everyone likes the idea, or maybe someone can use this idea in another future map =])
We could use a night skybox (someone created one recently), and the buildings could be wooden simple buildings, the bank ideia woudnt fit...
Inside of them, stolen objects, maybe a stolen train wagoon or charriot near the buidings (one of the bags could be inside of it), some bushes and trees helping to cover the hideout, and maybe a "Keep Out" sign kekekekkekekeke
At the robbers respawn (the robbers are the good guys, in that case, since they are trying to steal the bags back from the bandits haha), maybe 5 or 6 horses, indicating they arrived there on them, and the horses could be also the "exit".
I dont think a tunnel would be a good idea, because why the hell would someone build one in this situation? lol
Well, as I said before, those are just some ideas, please tell me what you think and please give better ideas than mine... Cmon, lets participate folks! Use your imagination kekekeke

i think it goes into the right of Breli's Backwater.
Let take the "Town" into a forest and the town will be a wagon castle
and the robbers have to steal the bags out of a weagon?

so i think we will kill at first the mountains idea and creat a forest
(after that we an put mountais in if we want)

4000 x 4000 is a good size i think.

when not maybe the older mappers can give us tipps with it 8)

how about a river like in ReD's duell map?

greetings

I think a "Backwater" map would be the only way you could do a big open map. Anything else would be a major FPS killer. If you make the map more rectangle:
Image

The red and green blocks are the robber and defender spawn/fortress. The black areas are structural brushes that block visibility. The big black center can have tunnels and other passage ways.

This map would also me good for proposed future game modes as well.

Good ideas. The thing is, what exactly could be inside that black area?
I had 2 ideas. One is a small mountain, full of trees. a forest on a mountain, to be precise.
The other one, is a 3-level-map. the robbers could respawn in a higher area, then they go 1 level down, following a river (black area, with a river and lots of trees), and then a waterfall and the last level (the bandits camp)
look at this pictures and see what I mean, sort of.

Would certainly look good, but I guess its hard to create maps like this. Did you guys think about putting something else on that black space? if so, please share. Maybe this map could be a flat one with constructions, and the stuff we are already used to, but that would feel like... more of what we already have with Backwater.
Please share your oppinions, partners.
