Flares in models?

Is there currently any model format capable of including func_flares such that they show up in a compiled map? Even more, I would like to include .maps into .maps at compile time. Is this somehow possible?

Otherwise I'd consider to write a small preprocessor capable of replacing models such as .ase with their .map source, if a .map source is available.

Motivation: I like the idea of editing a single lamp to update all lamps in a map while keeping all the nice stuff like flares and "dynamic geometry". Thanks for any insights.
