Re: greyscale, demo recording and video

Thanks for the answer. Yes, my intention is to record the demo using normal settings, and next convert it to a video using the best possible settings. I didn't express my thought in a clear way.

But it's not clear to me which are the best settings.

I didn't know of r_ext_multisample, I'll try to understand what it does. But what about other settings?

Sorry, playing with r_picmip 9, I'm absolutely ignorant about SG graphics/settings.

As I tried to communicate, the default settings are quite good looking, therefore revert to a fresh q3config.cfg. Then, only a few parameters need to be increased, like Trilinear Texture Filter, very high Curves Detail and Cinematic Map Detail and, of course, the target resolution.

Good news, for all people using the r300 driver of mesa3d: seems, anti-aliasing was finally implemented. I've updated to mesa-9.1.2, and now r_ext_multisample works as it should.

I remember Floppy had a small cfg for that a while back. I haven't tested it though; maybe it's worth a try, who knows?
Here it is:
Code: Select all

set r_fastsky "0"
set r_flares "1"         //New: flares on! ('effects of lightning')

Well, good answers. There's something I can start to work on. Thanks.
