REQUEST to the server adm JEUXLINUX ;P

I am asking you to set the minimum to 300 ping, many Brazilians like to play on the server, but it is not possible because of the limit Ping.

As much as I like playing with you guys, we can't increase the maxping.

People with pings above 200 either are warping around the map and impossible to hit, lag out of the game and everyone needs to wait until server timeouts them or can't hit anything themselves and only hurt their team by being useless in combat.

Maxping will stay at 200. It's a reasonable value to make gameplay smooth for both parties - and most of the world can still play fine with it (Americans for example).

that's nonsense; high ping got nothing to do with warping

aswell as a ping of 300 won't make anyone lagging out of the game

Lol. Except it does. Crappy connection causes all three and the only way to get rid of all of them is maxping.

High pings do not neccessarily mean packetloss, since that is what you really want to prevent.

Maxping does extremely good work filtering out all the crappy connections. What was a major complaint before we set it to 200 is no longer even mentioned on the server. Works for me. :-)

In addition to the above, why doesn't Brazil have an own server yet? There's like 20 people from there playing SG, make yourself one where your ping will be 40-50! You either play RAWHIDE or Europe and don't even know how much better this game works with ping under 100.

Sure it does fine in filtering crappy connections.

My point was: It unfortunately also filters players with fine connection (but bad ping due to distance).

I guess also maxping 400 would filter the crappy connections still, without getting rid of brasilian players e.g. .
