You certainly don't ask for much do you?
What you propose in this feature would require one of two things.
1) A headache of a coding job which would undoubtedly introduce many new bugs. Testing, more coding, more bugs, and so on.
*Same story for your idea about leaning around corners, which we already discussed years ago & decided not to pursue. Better to move to a new game engine that already supports this function, which the current team isn't up for doing. It would almost be like starting over.
2) Reworking, recompiling & testing of all of the maps. Then more reworking, recompiling & testing of all of the maps.

Either way it's a huge amount of work for one feature. And yes it would be cool, but our very small team is limited for time these days. :|

You can see the name of the map, as well as who made it, when it loads.

ReD is right. I'm hosting authorize and update servers but they are still in beta test. Maybe some day I'll try to also provide masterserver too, but yep, need time to do such fun stuff and people still waits for a new release...

About the difference between smokinguns.exe and smokinguns.mingw32-crosscompiled.exe, this is only a beta test, the mingw32 was built under linux with mingw32 cross-compilation environment. As far I know, most windows players find big differences between this 2 binaries and smokinguns.exe seems to always provide the better experience.

One of my reason for keeping the 1.1b4 update off the official downloads page is to prevent average users from accidentally downloading 1.1b4. There has been a few threads about users having difficulty doing the upgrade and I have help even more in private.

Once 1.1 has been finalized (or a stable beta) there will be an update option and a full version available on the downloads page. For now, just use Moddb.

I think firts-aid pack would be expensive (20$?) and you can buy max 3 packs.
You can heal (only?) other players by clicking fire near of them.
My opinion..

SG doesn't need campers to be able to heal themselves.
It's just stupid. In dm games it would be a waste of money/time and i don't even see the point of using this since you just need to die to get your life back.
And in BR games it would make good players who get a lot of money invicible which would ruin games even more.

Seriously go play the game.
What you're asking is special bude with knives only which already exists.

I believe that is the exact argument the last time this came up (oldy).

Hellraiser, why do you start a new thread for every single post you write?
There is already more than one place in this forum to post "new" ideas. Your behaviour is annoying and looks more as spam, than as real interest in the game.

I never seen you in game, Hellraiser, where do you play?

@grindagoo: I play rarely, but as far as I've seen sg has a small player base, and that makes my interest somewhst down :( (DON'T GET ME WRONG IT'S REALLY NICE GAME)
If only it has some more features...

Plea to the community: disable crosshairs on servers

Postby hellraiser » Fri Jul 15, 2011 4:25 pm

Hello, please don't get mad at me for the numerous thread I'e started, It's only I got lot to say :)

So, said that, I think the game would b uch more funnier if crosshairs will be removed by server admins.
Aside for gameplay matters, thy personal annoy me, in fact I find it's even more difficult to aim.. 8O

So please, would oyu care of? Tons of MMOFPS use crosshairs by default, and usually there's no way to disable them, I mean for the average player/weekend warrior

Thanks :)

I could look into this for you. I thought 1.1 was supposed to have different crosshairs, I could easily make one that is completely transparent and stick it in the next release. I will put it on my list of things to do.

We like people who have a lot to say.... most just do it in 1 or 2 threads! :?
