Akimbo, both shoots impossible ?

Postby zeVlad » Sat Jan 03, 2009 7:22 pm

Now, it runs good and it's amazingly beautiful and fun ! :P

But I cannot shoot with the two pistols in the same time, in akimbo mode (I did it clicking the two mouse buttons, before ; It doesn't work now). :|

An idea ?

I've never been able to do that in Linux, I'm guessing that X turns the left+right simultaneous clicks into a middle click. It used to be possible to disable that in xorg.conf, but the last couple of releases of Ubuntu store the config somewhere else and I haven't been able to figure out how to change it.

Oh, strange. I did it easily and without (conscient :D ) manipulation on Ubuntu 8.04. Too bad ! :(

Like Pyrite said, it looks like your trouble come from Xorg...
Search for "emulate 3 button mouse" or something like that... You should turn this option off.

It must be that problem, but I can't find how desactivate the emulation...

If I find, I'll post the solution here.

There seems to be something about it here. Haven't had time to test it though.

@Pyrite : It works !!!

Take care, the first solution of the link is about X.org (not valable for Ubuntu 8.10), but the second solution is good !

See you in the town...

xorg.conf solution

Postby yap » Tue Jan 06, 2009 12:51 pm

Howdy!

I've suffered from the same problem and I just like to mention that it can also be solved by editing the xorg.conf. This is how it looks on my system (Ubuntu 8.10):

Code: Select all
Section "InputDevice"
    Identifier     "Configured Mouse"
    Driver         "evdev"
    Option         "Emulate3Buttons" "false"
    Option         "CorePointer"
    Option         "Device" "/dev/input/by-id/usb-Logitech_USB_Gaming_Mouse-event-mouse"
EndSection

Be aware that you have to change the ID to the one of your mouse. And if you don't want to use the "evdev" driver (for whatevere reason), change it to "mouse" und remove the line conatining the ID.

Anyway, editing the .fdi file may be the cleaner solution fpr the current Xorg so I suggest you try that first...

Have fun!
