well there are a few things I came accross:
-) why does punktbust kick me when I'm playing in single player?

I have a valid key. I bought this stupid game the first day it was on sale! It sucks being kicked from his own server.

-) hit regions seem to work, althoug I wasn't able to hit all the reagions (shoulder, neck,groin). I'll check this some time later.

-) I get hundreds of "NET_CompareAdr: bad address type" messages in the console.

-) I get several messages similar to this:

I'd say the "GUID changed" is the problem. AFAIR, this happens when you play behind a router as well as through a router shortly after each other. Under some circumstances the different IP's confuse the punkbuster master server. Usually, just waiting helps. Or simply disable Punkbuster.

-) I get hundreds of "NET_CompareAdr: bad address type" messages in the console.

I've seen this too, but forgot under what circumstances .. *lol* It could be it was during playing with bots AND password, which does not work.

I think I've also seen similar, but not easily reproducable, and I'm not sure on which testpatch.

Try to post things like that in the beta tester board, though :-)

Beta Tester section can only be viewed by selected beta testers. It is hidden from general public.. I you would like to be a Beta Tester, send Red a PM..

Aquarius already has access to the test section. I am getting confused here. Are you still testing just the mac-hitfile fix OR are you now using the test patch available to testers only?? If the latter is true, then the test forum is the place to report. :wink: Thank you for your dedication!

this is kinda off topic but- for all these pb porblems throughout the forums- i just say screw pb- it kicks me for being on a limited account- i would think that being a limit user would make me a safer player than all others- i can't install an instant messenger, let alone any kind of virus or anything of that nature- limited people are deprived enough- and to go thru that with pb... it just sux- all currently running westernq3 servers have pb off anyway- so... no probs with western here-

Yeah I'm using the new patch. But because I have been testing the hit-file, I thought that this is the appropriate thread. Sorry if I caused some confusion.

I'm a programmer myself so I _should_ know how a good bug report should look like. I'll try to keep that in mind next time. :roll:

I guess it's not really a big deal. This is the original thread afterall. In order to keep the discussion in one place, I don't see a problem with continuing to post your findings here now that we know which patch you are using. :wink: Thanks for your detailed posts by the way.
