[Bug] I know whats good for you! aka PM rules!

Postby Breli » Wed Oct 04, 2006 8:57 pm

If you have two Peacemakers only one of them can be replaced by a lesser weapon. If a second weapon is bought (say a showfield), it is thrown away immediately and the PM remains ...

Not a big deal ;) ...

Harmonica: No. You brought two too many.

I have rechecked this behavior and I'm now sure that it is the old schofield that is dropped.
When you have both a peacemaker and a schofield, buying another schofield will cause the old one to be dropped, not the one you just buy.
Now that I'm thinking about it, the weapon to be dropped is not really obvious for me ...
About the chosen weapon to be dropped, is it more a feature than a bug ?

Then, I don't really know how it should be handled, or if it should be left as is.

Wouldn't it be more logical if the weapon that gets thrown away is not the same kind you buy? Currently the weakest weapon always gets dropped. But that's probably not what the player wanted, if he has got one PM and one schofield and then buys another schofield. Just avoid throwing a weapon of the same kind you just bought might be ok.

Yeah, this is definitely a good compromise ... and solution.
Just expect to check it in the next testpatch release ;)

OK, this is now fixed.
It is also true when having a remington 58 and schofield, and buying another remington 58.

As a bonus, I have also add a (small) feature when dropping a pistol.
In case the player have two same pistols, now it is the one with the least of ammo that will be dropped.
This is probably what every player want (I hope so ;))
