Yeah, it is surprising to see new uncommon things.
Good work, mates :P

The last days, cwbebop let me know a new model is about to be finished. If you need it, you will see it when the time comes on his mini website ;)

@ Hika : Yes it could be very interesting, I keep an eye on his website :)

Not related to Alamo, but just now, I have made a bison in md3 :

I don't know where to put it now, but I'm sure it will be usefull later ! Maybe on another part of my duel map...

That looks pretty nice! But where's the tail? I'm curious, the skin appears to be a photo. What programs are you using to model & skin?

There is a tail, but it is straight down. I use a program named "Misfit Model 3D", in the developpement/unstable version (stable version don't support md3 yet). I use a background image as a guide, like this :
Image

Because the background image used as a guide in my left view window is the same image as my texture, I just have to set up a projection from the left and I have textured most part of the model... But things are going really difficult for face which have normals toward up, down, front and back, because the texture looks streched... That's annoying... As for the horses, if you look at its front, you can see it is not really fine... And there isn't anything to do if you haven't photo of it taken from all 6 directions.
So I have reworked texture coordinate for all triangle that don't face right or left to limit this.

bison

Postby ChainLightnin' » Sat May 17, 2008 9:47 pm

I got a kick out of seeing the photo of the bison you posted, Red! It's from the National Bison Range just a few miles from my home here in Montana. The website has a few more good scruffy bison (buffalo, tatonka) shots, but I didn't see any good face photos, Joe. There has to be some around. If I find one I'll post it. If you've ever had a buffalo burger, you'll know why the Indians loved them so much! :D
Well...Mr. Chain Blue Lightnin' hisself..heh, heh!

Thanks a lot Chain Lightning, that's true that could help me a lot to have a front view of one of them ;)
If I have time, maybe I would make one with the photo that ReD have posted ;)

I found a few more, but looks like your all set! (edit) Second thought, maybe these angle ones would help with the transition. 8)

Thanks Chainlightning, but it would even more difficult if I used those 45 degree image, cause it means MORE transitions ;)

Hey, I know I have said this so many time, but this time, Alamo is almost finished ! We will finish it maybe tomorrow or monday !

If Hika and Tequila are okey, we envisage to install my map on their test-server for beta-tester during one week, before release it for all the Smokin' Guns community ! :D
