New Wasteland server !

Postby hika » Wed May 21, 2008 12:54 am

Maybe some of you have probably noticed !

New Wasteland is coming to replace the old one.
Its IP address/port is 91.121.106.158:27960.
It is a new rented server, more powerful than the old one.
After 2 years of service, I think I was the time to bring a new one, so that's it ;)

The Wasteland Testing will be migrated on the new server, in the next few days.

is this an ioquake installation? Cause i can?t join from original q3 (invalid game folder). Joining from ioquake works fine.

Great THX for server-support, anyways!

Thanks for your report !
I did not notice that but what you said is true.

The server uses the future Smokin' Guns engine.
I know where the problem is (something related to pak0.pk3's pureness), but I didn't know yet, why it happens on this server and not on the current Wasteland Testing.

I think I have to investigate. Thanks again. ;)

I assumed you were using the pak0.pk3 from the retail Q3 disc on the old Wasteland server? (Not the test server.)

My bad !
My pak0 is correct on both the servers, but the SA pak0's checksum in the source code is wrong.

I should have introduced that problem, since April 2007, when I was working on merging engine and mod source code 8O .
What is frightening is that I did not remember exactly the reason/when I modified that. I think I have changed that in the same time as the .pak restructuration work, which probably need working on a possibly new SA pak0.
