Editing the scoretable

Postby Juaro Juarez » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:04 pm

Hey guys i don't know if that goes here in this part of the forum but i got a little advise/hint/whatever to you Upper-Smokin guns makers... ahahhaaaaa i really talk shit.
But the main thing is i wanted to propse you, that the scoretable is a bit weird like that how it is now. ( That's my opinion, not that of you guys or other guys). I would like it if the 'time' on the scoretable would be replaced by a 'deaths' statistic.
This time doesnt say anything because it changes all the time and sometimes when you are already 30 minutes on a server suddenly the time changes back to 0.

Just an advise :D

maybe instead of changing that stat... we just add another one that shows deaths :)

Or you could have personal stats in the console at the end of every round/map.
Kills, death, accuracy, damage given etc.

Also, about the time in the scores table, maybe it would be more usefull to have a value indicating how many rounds a player has played instead of minutes

Time never seems to work properly anyway.

I'm all for some more useful stats!

Stats would be great. I went on a helluva rampage yesterday and I know I whupped folks (got the scorelimit and all) but was unable to know how many times I'd died. Ratios are cool. :)

As a side note: stats might help to attract more players to SG.
also, current players might get on more often if there were more stats :)

Do you mean temporary ingame stats at the end of a round? This can be implemented easily.
Otherwise the serveradmin would have to use tools like B³&XLRStats, but this is up to each serveradmin.

Yes, but every round would be too much. Every map would be better.

A random example of how it is done in RTCW OSP mod:

(it also has accuracy stats for every weapon if you scroll up)

Indeed, death stats would be more adequate than time especially in BR or any "last man standing" mode when you often play 30 seconds and wait 2 minutes for campers.

But TBH, I don't like stats in team modes with objectives (so BR for example). :? They only pretend to be one of the aims in the game (but they are not) and take too much attention of some players, at the same time spoiling atmosphere of team-driven fun and cooperation. Play DM if you care about your personal stats
So, IMHO, the less stats in BR and objective modes the better :) And where's the option "Forget about stats in BR!", Juaro? ;)
