Monster Browser 0.7 is out

Postby torhu » Tue Apr 06, 2010 12:14 am

Download links, etc in the sticky thread.

No big news this time, mainly a better status bar, plus some bug fixes. I had some spare time, so I thought I could at least just release what I've got. :D

I added support for the new color codes that are used in the SG 1.1 betas. They're not used by default, since SG 1.1 isn't final yet. For now they can be enabled by adding 'colortest' (without the quotes) to MB's command line.

Code: Select all
v0.7 - 2010-05-05
-----------------
- New: Improved status bar.
- New: Can now use .bat or .lnk files instead of an .exe when launching a game.
- Change: Settings and data are now stored in a user-specific location, instead of the installation folder.  The installer will move your files to this location so you don't lose your current settings or server lists. If you want to keep it all in one directory, create an empty file called  'portable.txt' in the directory where MonsterBrowser.exe is located.
- Change: The key for opening a remote console window is now F9, as F10 is the standard key for opening the menu on Windows.  F10 will still work, at least in this version.
- Fix: Using multiple protocol versions with the same master server didn't work properly.
- Fix: The button for opening the game configuration now works on Vista.

ah, looks good!

thanks for the update, you're gorgeous.

Thanks, guys. :)

One thing I noticed when I enabled the extended color codes, is that some people use ^8 instead of ^0 when they want black. But with the extended codes, ^8 is orange.

I have a server browser on my mIRC, but the q3 master server doesnt find sg servers for some reason.

Could you tell me how to solve this?
Is there a seperate master server for SG? or do you use a text file that has the servers listed?

SG uses the q3 master, which is monster.idsoftware.com, and is aliased to master3.idsoftware.com. Port is 27950.
