Bank robbery question

hey
is there a way to play a game of bank robbery all by myself without needing at least one bot/player on the opposite team, if I wanted to explore the map not as a spectator?
also does anybody know whether SG has any bow mod?

No, you need an opponent to start the game and run around freely. You can however load a map with the devmap command, e.g. type into console

addbot
notarget

This way, the bot will not see/target you and you can roam freely. Alternatively, join BB and vote for br_ maps. This is the most fun way getting to know all br maps ;-).

!NuB!Donut did work on a bow. He even included some firing animation. I don't remember if this bow really fired arrows or just flying knifes. Anyway, there were some issues left, AFAIK.

do you have the bow file(s)? the links from that thread seem to be long expired and the mod itself seems to be abandoned, oh well, I feel like bow is the only weapon that SG needs added

Yes, I've uploaded them here. AFAIK, it replaces the Winchester rifle and is only a proof of concept at this stage.

I can't somehow seem to get the bow to show up in the game
I am supposed to put the files in their respective folders in the sg pak in the game directory right?
because I still have the Winchester in game

Sorry, I gave some misinformation: the bow appears in the buy menu under specials (4 - like the gatling gun) and is selected also by 4 (like dynamite and Molotov cocktails). In this version, it does not replace the Winchester rifle.

If you don't see the bow in the buy menu, ensure you put the .PK3 file into your SG user directory (%APPDATA%\Smokin' Guns\smokinguns in Windows).

even though I got a crash once that mentioned some weapon firing or something
too bad donut abandoned it, would have been definitely really nice

last question: can bots use the weapon? I suppose they can't right?
also the error message took me to main menu and said
Error:

I know it's abandoned and all but I just thought I would post it

No, I suppose not. Likely, even if a bot picks up a bow, they won't buy ammo (arrows) for it. And since the arrows turn into knives once fired, they have no chance to pick up arrows.

That said, if one were to continue developing this mod, one could program bots to use the bow.

It does not make sense to invest time on solving this error message: the animations would remain broken and it would have no chance of getting included, neither in BB nor official SG. If at least the animations were right, I would consider spending some time on integrating it. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about animations, so I cannot do it alone.
