Hmm, 128mb RAM seems a little few to me. Maybe that's the problem. That would explain the regularity of your performance drops. Maybe the game runs out of Ram and has to chache it to the harddisk, that would make a computer slow.

Another possible is that it was just a "bad" server. I played on a server today that gave me ragualarly connection interrupted or at least a very high ping. That would make a game seem slow, too.

yea, I'm having the same problem. With q3 base and even mods like q3ut2, I don't have any problems with Frames Per Second, but in WQ3, about every minute my FPS drop to about 6-11 from around 70-90 area which is a pretty big jump and really inconvenient...and at the same time I've tried everything I can to fix it, I've brought my graphics detail all the way down and I'm now running in Fastest, as well as turned gunsmoke off, and particles off. I've even tried to overclock my video card to fix it, and to even install a RAM defragmenter on my computer to no avail. So you know I'm running a:
945MHz Duron
256SDRAM
GeForce4 MX-440

And the slowdown happens even on my own server...so I doubt that that's the problem.

Is it possible you may be running another program in the background that accesses the internet at regular intervals? You know, like an email program, Kazaa, or something? Just a guess. FPS fluctuations are somewhat normal for this mod I think. When I move to an area of high detail in a map I notice a drop in FPS. But it's not nearly as bad as what you describe. Try closing all unneccesary programs before you play....even your antivirus. Also check to see if there are any driver updates for your video card. Oh, and are you using WindowsXP? If so, then you really need 256mb of ram MINIMUM. Hope this gives you some ideas.

I'm running WinME (ugh :? ) but yea..I would have everything else closed on my computer, and I'd still get the FPS drops. And I've made sure that my drivers are up to date.

i don't run anything in the background and i use to run games that demand more work without problems (il2 sturmovik, infiltration, need for speed 6)

"about 6-11 from around 70-90 "

i have exactly the same ; from 40-90 to 7-15

it is the only game to do that to me so its not my computer...
as someone else has same problem its a code bug...
maybe the geforce thing.
or maybe cause i have WQ3 1.2 still installed ?
or geforce pb ?

help... fix it plz i dono

I added 256 more RAM to my system and I still had about the same problem. But I just disabled my music completely, and now it suddenly works right :)
