Boy, Am I glad to find this mod on the web.
But:
How do I play it?

I dont see anything change in the game. I of course downloaded the mod and unzipped it into the main Q3 folder. But what now?

Btw: I use a g4 933 MAC.

Usually you start wq3 either by a link to quake 3 with the parametrs "+set fs_game westernq3", or you use the q3 mod menu. If you don't have a mod menu in quake3 then your quake3 is not yet updated. Make sure you have the newest patch for quake3 (1.32).

I have the right version now:-)
But:
Its an os X installer.

It installs new files in a new directory.
Should I replace(overwrite) the files in my 'normal' Q3 folder?
I tried that. (I have several macs)
But it keeps giving the message 'error could not load hitfile'
In both os 9 AND os x....

What did I do wrong?

I have to admit that you did nothing wrong. As you can see in another thread in this forum, we have a big problem with mac users. At the moment, they only can join games, but not create their own games. This problem will hopefully be fixed with the next patch. Until then you can only play wq3 if someone else created a game.

So just try one of the onlie servers on the news page.
