Postby [L2C]Cow-GIrl » Sun Feb 15, 2004 10:33 pm

Howdy....We keep posting our meetings so everyone gets the idee we are really trying to get the western mod alive. This time we had more players coming along :) very nice. We will try to contact the admin of the server so we can vote on his server. Now and then a little bank robbery is nice to.
Speaking of the server..here is the ip 80.190.243.49:27962 Somewhere in the west - New II (Deathmatch)

We are starting at 19:00 hours pm Dutch time
look here for the the timezone http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/c ... tml?sort=1

Hope to see more new Cow-Boys/Girls :)

Hehe, the admin is right here ;-) ... and I already replied to the e-mail I got. I just will check some technical details but have no problems in allowing voting if that gets the mod back to life.

To clear things up for the others. There seems to be a bug in the mod. If you play with bots on a br/tdm map the remaining player slots get filled up with bots, even when you limit their number in the config files. The AI also doesn't seem to work - the bots don't move/shoot. I hope I understood that correctly ;)

I think the wrong approach to this problem is to deactivate the bots, because people who don't know about our meetings are more likely to join when they see that there are 4 players (bots) on the server.

So if sig11 doesn't find a work-around for this bug, we could meet on port 27960. We can also vote for DM maps on this port.

It's the bug described in these posts :
http://ici.planet-multiplayer.de/phpbb2 ... .php?t=303
http://ici.planet-multiplayer.de/phpbb2 ... .php?t=262
Although they look different, it's the same thing, one from the users view, the other from the servers view. I think you can find even more like that in the forum.

As of writing this post, the server "Tombstone Westernquake" on 64.107.112.250:27960 is in this state ;-) .....

Also, when I allow voting with bots this problem will happen (which I tested).

My current plan is to allow voting when you meet and then make sure that there are no bots - either by human intervention (me :-) ) or by a mechanism I'm working on.

Bottom line : Just meet, try to vote if you feel like and see what happens ;-)
