Im quite new on this forum, but i hope some of you remember me whom i play together sometimes. Today i thought i need to register here because a friend of mine let me know that dolny accused me of cheating. That was not too fair because he did it on the smokin guns forum and i can not enter there, but i can assure you dolny that i never used any cheat, and as far as i know there are not any cheaters in wq3. I think its good because nothing can be as disturbing as chaeters, perhaps only those who accuses others of cheating. In other games, for example counterstrike, there is an old tradition of cheating and accusation, and i dont want you to begin this in wq3. By the way my bindings disturbes no one but you; ofcourse i wont use theese in the future in case im playing with you. I dont think anyone cares about our business so we can continue by email if u want to:

Dolny only claimed to be suspicious of you...he never actually called you a cheater. It is something that happens in online games whenever a player dies a lot at the hand of another. I have been accused of cheating in ET on several occassions... on PB enabled servers no less. Personally, I took it as a compliment to my skills each time. So, let's not make a big deal out of this. We pretty much laid his suspicions to rest in the other forum so this is basically a dead topic. However, I understand your need to defend your honor. You have done so now and I hope this will not go any further. Besides, I haven't seen Dolny in weeks and I wonder if he even comes here anymore. (If you do and feel the need to continue this debate, please use Ish's email address.)

I never said you are a cheater, I just asked Red and torhu to keep an eye on you when I met you for the first time. It's weird to see a new guy who spams some stupid binds while playing (like cheater, wallhack etc in red colour) and shoots me in the head from the second end of the map with his first shot.

I just said that I was suspicious.

I'm not visiting the forums, as well as other ones I used to because of problems in my personal life. I think I'll be back.

I'm sad to hear this. I hope things will get better for you. This might sound "corny" but it's the hard times that make us who we are. My own hard times have made me stronger and wiser. Best of luck to you dolny and I hope you will return to us.

I wish both those German servers would enable Punk Buster, the arguments about lag are a bit old hat to be honest. As for key checks, buy a copy of QUake 3

We hope to go ahead and release a patch in the next few weeks that gives you the option for first person spectator view. This will at least let you see through a suspicious players eyes. And, once the stand-alone is finished there will be no need to buy Q3.

In addition to Reds post, I would like to mention that buying Quake is not that easy for some people. In Germany, for instance, the game is censored (for about three years now). You can't buy it in the stores. I had to order it in the UK. If, say, you are somewhat younger, don't have a credit card and daddy doesn't want you to use his, the problem begins I am sure it is sold in some places on the quiet, but not everybody has access to such distribution channels.

Anyway, with the release of the Q3 source code these problems will just disappear ...

the legal protection for children and young persons in Germany is VERY strict when it comes to excessive violence in movies and games. And quake is somewhat violent

OTOH nobody bothers about nudity or drinking beer in the public . Some boobs on TV do not cause an outrage here These are these tiny little differences I enjoyed the most when living in the US. Every country has a very different perception of good and bad.

This doesn't seem to have affected the Quake 1 - 3 community in Germany, still plenty of German Quake servers.

You cannot justify piracy no matter how absurd the rules and regulations of a country, CD Key checks and PB are a good thing for online gaming, they protect the industry and the sport itself

It wasn't my intention to justify anything or discuss the adequacy of the regulations . After all, I have bought quake in order to play western quake a couple of weeks before it was open sourced ... I just wanted to throw in that point ... Probably some other people have the same problem and don't know that they can order quake or any other censored game in the UK.

Anyway, all this stuff is sort of off-topic in this thread
