ok so i had the regular 1.0 SG game and wanted to upgrade to 1.1b4 so i downloaded it. it downloaded to my document folder. from there i took the files and put them in the original SG folder thats in my C/program files. now when i play i can access the 1.1b4 content however no matter where or what im playing when i turn my toon in a certain direction the screen goes crazy and i can see like 20 shadows of my gun if you will like a trail. and i can see through the walls. did i do something wrong installing or is this a common issue. sure makes it hard for me to play

well i tried to download then move the files to the prgram files SG folder and now it says that the app is unable to start due to configuration ???? oh no now what should i do start over from scratch and try again cus i really like playing and id rather play with the 1.0 download than not play with the 1.1b4 i just dont know what im doing i blame only me lol ty for your help pls tell me what to do soon or ill just reinstall the original

ok so forget all that.....i completely erased the game and reinstalled the 1.0 version. and it runs just fine. lol ever heard just leave well enough alone. lol well no i want 1.1b4 still and would appreciate any advice or links [(preferably advice or guidance) since i havnt had great luck researching forums] ReD; i know you gave me a list of exe's to try Name Last Modified Size Type

i tried downloading them one at a time; i download one then move it from the download file to the C/program files/smokin guns files just like i did from the patch download (wich worked just fine all except the graphic issue when i faced one direction) then tru to run the game......and all i wound up doing was making the game unplayable all together. im usually not such a noob and dont know what i did wrong but decided to start over and mabe do it right this time. id also like to thank Dev random though his links did not work at all for me(prolly me again)thanks for the help and any further. hope to get 1.1b4 istalled properly soon

Can you try another windows binary from the sparcdr site ? The one provided with the release is from http://wmd.game-host.org/smokin-guns-or ... msvcx/x86/

Try the one from http://wmd.game-host.org/smokin-guns-or ... msvc9/x86/ or some other.

Sorry, I did not check links.
Assuming you're on Windows and a somewhat new PC, download the correct file http://smokinguns.sparcdr.org/downloads ... in-x86.zip

Make a backup of the existing smokinguns.exe in C:\Program files\ (just rename or move it elsewhere), then put the one from the downloaded zip into its place.

i thank you for all your help dev/random but i already uninstalled and reinstalled the 1.0 version. if this link will give me the 1.1b4 files i need to upgrade to 1.1b4 then ill download them....if not then pls if you dont mind give me some instruction on how to properly install the 1.1b4 patch. thanks again for all your help and any further.

Everything you need should be at this link:

Look at how 1.0 is installed then look at what is in the 1.1b4 zip file. Move the files from the zip to the appropriate places in your 1.0 installation. Since you're not a noob it shouldn't be too hard to figure out if you take your time.

If you still have a graphics problem after this, try a new .exe

thanks again for all your help ReD i downloaded 1.1b4 and had the same graphic issue so i tried the other exe like you said and whaalaa. it works just fine. ty again for all your help.
