Weird bug, or a fault?

Well, This happens to all my quake 3 mods, when ever you fire a weapon or shoot something, once its fired like 5-6 black boxes come from behind it, and then vanish!!!
And on the top of the screen there is sum grey lines that just stay there and not move, very thick grey lines???
Can someone please help me!
