Drawing ladders, railtracks etc.

Well, I don't quite get the nodraw texture usage. I made a brush, textured it with tracks texture. It looks like this:

So I covered all the edges with the nodraw texture, besides the upper edge with the tracks. Still, the black color shows up. Can I somehow delete it :/ ? I noticed that on the ladders and other things made by Spoon the black elements dissapear when in-game. I can't do the same.

That is a custom texture and you don't have a shader applied to it to tell the engine to draw the black areas as transparant. If you try the metal_jailbars.tga texture, of the Wq3_metal set, on a test brush you will see that it works as it should. That's because there is a shader for it in the frag.shader file located in the scripts folder. Open the frag.shader with notepad and take a look.
