Hi,
the hoster of our Baller Bude server had to delay the change of BB's IP address due to technical difficulties, originally scheduled on November 14th, 2018, at 23:30 CEST. However, as of now, the change has been made, and from now on, Baller Bude is reachable under it'S new IP-Address 160.20.146.253.

I've brought Robbery Bude online. I did set bot_minplayers 2 until I have time to change the balancing function as discussed.

Announcement! New players, while still welcomed, are muted, generically named and play with a handicap of 90, until they automatically are promoted to regular status. So keep playing and if you are regular player, make sure to not reset your GUID!

Rationale: Truly new players are quite rare. Usually a new player is an already known player who trolls or is evading sanctions. This is unwanted behaviour, which is now made less attractive.


If you are/were a regular player and did reset your GUID manually: sorry, I will make no manual exceptions. You have grind to get to your old status. If your GUID did reset itself without you knowing why, get in contact with me. Ideally, write a post in this topic.

The host of BB is currently down and @spi hasn't been able to restart it yet. He's getting in contact with the service provider.

Update: the server is up an running again.

I've just enter Baller Bude after few/many years and it seems to be a no man's land: players insulting others in the worst and most unacceptable ways, avoiding penalties by spelling gimmicks. Ironically, it is worse than the Old West; the Old West in comparison looks like a kindergarten run by nuns. No matter, it is life that goes on.

I'm not sure I'm deciphering correctly your message, because of language barriers, but I'm honoured and happy to meet you again here, TheDoctor!

How much you have done to keep that server clean in the past is incredible. I take my hat off to you.

Here, when I see these players acting like rapists of their fellow players, I get a predatory instinct, I feel like Clint Eastwood in one of his movies. Insults are fine (within limits), OK, but I don't tolerate injustice, racism, sexism, bullying, they are poison spewed into the world.

I haven't played Smoking Guns in a long time, but I would start playing again just to put these unpunished bullies in their place. I would be very tempted to ask you for admin credentials, but I don't think I have the time I used to have to devote to this endeavour. And I am not sure I am yet worthy of the role.
