Download EasyGen HERE
After installing the software, I have my paths set up like so:
(Obviously, set your paths according to your own installation.)

Total run time for these 3 videos is around 26 minutes. You can easily create a terrain in less than an hour once you learn the techniques.

Part #2 - Adding Textures (aka. Paint yer Map.)
Video: Part2 at moddb
Also available at youtube:

ATTENTION: Unfortunately, you will need to extract the textures from sg_textures0.pk3 to be able to use them in EasyGen. Don't bother with all of them, just extract what you think you will need. Like grass, dirt, stone, etc.

NOTE: Selecting textures of equal size (all are 512x512 for example) yields much better results than textures of unequal size. (512x512 plus 256x256 isn't as good. Textures get stretched more.) Check the properties for the textures you intend to use for best results.

You can have no more than 2 textures touching each other.

Pressing + or - on the numpad area of the keyboard will increase or decrease the scale of the textures.

Above tutorial fixed for the new forum.
I also found another (english) video tutorial on youtube. Not quite as descriptive but he does cover a few things that I didn't.
