Hey

As I didn't liked the original knife model I decided to create own

I did the Model and the Animations. the textures where done by 3atmE.

I hope you like it and that it's bug free....

I only made a new knife... I didn't change anything on the hands..... but if you guys like the knife and want new hands I could try to make some

Just copy the pk3 in your Smokin' Guns/smokinguns folder and you should see the new knife model. unfortunately it only works offline....(except when the server has the PK3 too or it is an unpure server of course )

You don't happen to have a hell lotta time to lend your skillz ... say ... for making a few more models like hands or the rest of our weather torn somewhat blocky avatars, do you?

I use Blender for both. modelling and animating.


hm well.. I actually have time if my teachers dont hate me too much ).... and would like to help you...but I never really created a complete character before... not to mention I dont know that much about animating... but I think I should be able to make some new hands or other (prefered not living XD) models which are needed.....

I think i will start with the hands tomorrow or on friday .... hopefully everything goes allright

well, my wife is a teacher so even if it is unlikely that she is one of your teacheers we might be able to help with that

hehe... well at least you live in germany too XD

but till now they aren't too bad... hopefully that won't change

the hands could take a while though.... cause as far as I know I have to add and animate them for every weapon.... but jeah... maybe next weekend they ould be finished (and probably first blender screens this weekend )

what kind of other models did you mean? creating new mapobjects or something like that..or remaking the current models?


and btw: I also uploaded the knife on moddb... they just have to check it and then it should be available from the smokin' guns profile... (i will post a link here too)

Well, I'm just downloading Blender. I'll try to make some gun models, but I never messed with modeling before. I think it's not going to be easy

wow I didn't expect that much feedback in this short time
thanks.. thats very motivating ..... too bad the Quake 3 engine doesn't support Bumbmaps... you can add so much detail just with that.... well but i'll do my best

Btw, it's probably not a good idea to offer your new models on moddb. Some noobs will find out they can no longer join pure servers & will be posting in here for help. ARRRGGGHHH!!!

It's fine to provide links in here though so we can check out your models. Then, we'll include any that are good in our next patch. Sound ok?
