Biondo wrote:BTW, I suppose you already know that internal links are still pointing to smokin-guns.net instead of forum.smokin-guns.org.
Moreover updating all links pointing from lame-clan.tk to this forum, I noticed a little problem with links pointing to a specific comment.
Example:
OLD link "http://www.smokin-guns.net/viewtopic.php?p=6224#6224" (or it was "http://www.smokin-guns.net/viewtopic.php?p=6224#t6224" ... with a "t" after #?) corrected with NEW domain "http://forum.smokin-guns.org/viewtopic.php?p=6224#6224" points to the thread, not to the comment. New URL is in fact "http://forum.smokin-guns.org/viewtopic.php?p=6224#p6224" (notice the p after #).

Done, let me know if some links are making trouble. But don't tell about the picture we didn't get back... any concerned people will have to re-upload as possible. Sorry for that.

Tequila, some links are still broken. Example: in torhu's page http://forum.smokin-guns.org/viewtopic.php?p=11664#p11664 the link "Dowloads etc. in the first post" points to http://smokin-guns.net/viewtopic.php?p=5378#5378.

I suppose you have corrected all links in the form of http://www.smokin-guns.net/ but not those without "www".

Bye,

Nice shot :oops:
Thanks I'll try to handle them, this is more difficult than just a replacement other a REPLACE sql dump, but should be not so hard.

There is a nice style to the forum, in a suitable color. With the sources and the free GPL license. Here's a demo: http://demo.rockettheme.com/phpbb3/?style=grunge . And files: http://www.rockettheme.com/phpbb3-downl ... 546-grunge . Maybe someone to like :)

Thank you dansh! This is exactly the theme I wanted to use as an inspiration for forum re-design :)
Unfortunately the licence is not entirely GPL:

RocketTheme phpBB3 Extension License

All RocketTheme phpBB3 Extensions (Styles, mods, etc.) are released under the GPL version 2.0 license (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html GNU/GPLv2). For phpBB3 styles specifically, the PHP code portions are distributed under the GPL version 2.0 license. If not otherwise stated, all images, cascading style sheets, and included JavaScript are NOT GPL, and are released under the RocketTheme Proprietary Use License v1.3 (See below) unless specifically authorized by RocketTheme. Elements of the styles released under this proprietary license may not be redistributed or repackaged for use other than those allowed by the Terms of Service of the club. Please review the Terms of Service for further information on these usages.

To summarize: HTML templates are GPL'd, images/CSS/JavaScript are not.
I want to test if templates respect enough the default ones and supply all the needed features. If so, this nice theme could be used a base for building our forum.

Thank dansk to be so interested by our next looking,

I know Biondo still like this exactly one and he will propose a new style for the forum based on that "grunge" stytle in a week or two ;)

On SG team behalf, I can say we also like this style and we are excited to see what Biondo can propose ;)
Biondo has still provided the *LAME* clan style, and it looks really nice to us.

Wait and see :twisted:

I just thought it was just pointed out otherwise stated:

RocketTheme phpBB3 Extension License:

........For phpBB3 styles specifically, the PHP code portions are distributed under the GPL version 2.0 license. If not otherwise stated, all images, cascading style sheets, and included JavaScript are NOT GPL, and are released under the RocketTheme Proprietary Use License v1.3 (See below) unless specifically authorized by RocketTheme........

On the download page stated::

Grunge, the August 2010 Free GPL release, is outfitted with a sophisticated, artistic and professional design, in conjunction with a powerful configuration options. The style is a perfect example of an artistic club release, with a range of key features that accompany all our RocketTheme phpBB3 styles, provides a useful sample for you to experience club level themes.

I just thought if just write the GPL and to provide for the use of sources, then it belongs to the GPL v1.
I can highly fallible

Forgive me for my importunity. :)

Well, the situation is garbled.

stylesheet.css:

Code: Select all
phpBB style name: grunge
   Based on style:   prosilver (this is the default phpBB3 style)
   Original author:  Tom Beddard ( http://www.subBlue.com/ )
   Modified by: RocketTheme, LLC (C) Copyright. All rights reserved.

   Copyright 2006 phpBB Group ( http://www.phpbb.com/ )

gantry-totop.js:

Code: Select all
 * @version   3.0.5 July 5, 2010
 * @author    RocketTheme http://www.rockettheme.com
 * @copyright Copyright (C) 2007 - 2010 RocketTheme, LLC
 * @license   http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html GNU/GPLv2 only

suckerfish-ie6.js:

Code: Select all
 * @version      1.5.1 July 6, 2010
 * @author      RocketTheme, LLC http://www.rockettheme.com
 * @copyright    Copyright (C) 2007 - 2010 RocketTheme, LLC
 * @license      http://www.rockettheme.com/legal/license.php RocketTheme Proprietary Use License

Such a mess! Don't know what to do.

I'm just now looking at RocketTheme's templates and styles. Templates had been heavily modified from default style versions, making the code looking confused and disordered. They are crowded with references to RocketTheme's code. I'd feel more comfortable starting from a "clean" base, without having to worry about mistakenly including proprietary code.

I just wanted to congratulate this community for having a forum with a enjoyable theme again :wink: .

My personal thanks go to Biondo for investing so much time in this theme - it is, as always, high quality work.

Thanks also to everyone who has contributed to the new theme or will contribute to it in the future.

Finally, thanks to Tequila, for hosting the forum, for trusting Biondo and for applying the theme.
