Welcome to the WQ3 forums.
I had a simular problem when I tried mapping for wq3. the game was still in its 2.1b stage; I thought they had fixed this in the 2.2 release. Anyway, take a look at this thread and see if there is anything there that might help.

! And I Like It ! Just The Same As My 2 Brothers ! And You Know ? Ok , Well I Go To That Thread ! I Saw A Text That Is Clickable Latest Version ! I Downloaded It ! But Now It Shows This And Doesnt Continue !

I Already Have Version 2.2 ( I Downloaded First 2.0 From http://www.quakeunity.com And Then I Downloaded 2.2 But When I Aimed On A Friend It Didnt Show The Crosshair So I Downloaded 2.1 And Then Again I Installed 2.2)

Hello haraldx and welcome to the forums !
By reading what you said, I think you misunderstand what this tool really is.
It is not a map editor but a map compiler.
So, don't expect it to be a GUI application
... and from your last screenshot, q3map2 only said you to provide parameters, including a .map file. So, it is not really what I call a bug 
By the way, the MSVCRTD.dll message lets me think that the q3map2.exe was built in Visual Studio on Debug mode.
